Limo Ride to Success
In industry corporate executives are motivated to perform at their peak with handsome incentive bonuses. In fact, in some industries in the US, workers rely on their bonuses or tips, for a majority of their income. Therefore, it’s nice to see that adults are not the only ones who get rewarded for effort.
Some Witter Elementary students rode to lunch in style last week in celebration of their FCAT scores. A total of sixty-five students were treated to a limousine ride and lunch at the Golden Corral as part of the school's Four or More Club. Students who scored a 4 or 5, the highest scores possible, on the writing portion of the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test are part of the club.
Students grew wide-eyed as a white Hummer stretch limousine pulled up to the school to take them to lunch. According to teacher Japera Hodges, the treat provided a unique experience for the students as many of them had never been in a limousine, and some rarely get to go out to a restaurant.
It’s nice to be acknowledged. Many deserving students become disillusioned when standardized test scores are utilized as the sole criteria for recognition and reward. The effort and hard work that is required in meeting goals is often at times overlooked. Teachers tell parents it’s important for children to be acknowledged. However, parents should not rely on the school only to show recognition for a child’s efforts. Surprise your child and hire a limo as a reward their achievements.
Hiring a limo for a few hours is not as expensive as you think. Imagine the look of surprise on your child’s face as a shiny stretch limousine arrives to pick them up; the driver opens the door, your child steps into the limo, admiring its plush interior; then it slowly drives off on its way to a favourite local restaurant. It’s a scene most kids have only ever seen on television! Imagine how envious their friends and fellow students will be.
